ദിസ്പുർ: അസമിലെ നൽബാരി ജില്ലയിൽ ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷങ്ങൾക്ക് നേരെ വിശ്വഹിന്ദു പരിഷത്ത് - ബജ്‌റംഗ്ദൾ പ്രവർത്തകരുടെ വ്യാപക അക്രമം. പനിഗോൺ ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ സെന്റ് മേരീസ് സ്കൂളിലെ ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ തടഞ്ഞ സംഘം, വിദ്യാലയത്തിലെ അലങ്കാരങ്ങളും ബാനറുകളും നശിപ്പിച്ചു. സ്കൂൾ പരിസരത്ത് ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷിക്കാൻ പാടില്ലെന്ന് മാനേജ്‌മെന്റിനെ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തിയതായും റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളുണ്ട്.

സെന്റ് മേരീസ് സ്കൂളിൽ അതിക്രമിച്ചു കയറിയ പ്രവർത്തകർ 'ജയ് ശ്രീറാം' വിളികളോടെ ആഘോഷത്തിനായി ഒരുക്കിയ പോസ്റ്ററുകളും തോരണങ്ങളും വലിച്ചു കീറുകയായിരുന്നു. സ്കൂളിന് പുറമെ നഗരത്തിലെ വ്യാപാര സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലും ഷോപ്പിംഗ് മാളുകളിലും സംഘം അക്രമം അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടു. കടകളിൽ വിൽപനയ്ക്ക് വച്ചിരുന്ന ക്രിസ്മസ് അലങ്കാര വസ്തുക്കൾ സംഘം റോഡിലിട്ട് തീയിട്ടു നശിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യയുടേതല്ലാത്ത ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ അനുവദിക്കില്ലെന്നാണ് വിഎച്ച്പി-ബജ്‌റംഗ്ദൾ ജില്ലാ സെക്രട്ടറി ഭാസ്കർ ദേകയുടെ പ്രതികരണം.

സംഭവം നടന്നതായി പൊലിസ് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, സ്കൂൾ അധികൃതരോ വ്യാപാരികളോ ഇതുവരെ പരാതി നൽകാൻ തയ്യാറായിട്ടില്ല. നിലവിൽ പരാതികൾ ലഭിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ ആർക്കെതിരെയും എഫ്‌ഐആർ (FIR) രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് പൊലിസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ അറിയിച്ചു. അക്രമത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ നൽബാരി നഗരത്തിൽ സംഘർഷാവസ്ഥ നിലനിൽക്കുകയാണ്.

Bajrang Dal activists disrupt Christmas celebrations in Assam; school and shops vandalized. In the Nalbari district of Assam, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal disrupted Christmas celebrations at St. Mary’s School in Panigaon. The group reportedly entered the school premises, tore down banners and posters, and threatened the management against holding festivities.

Following the incident at the school, the mob targeted local shops and shopping malls, seizing Christmas decorations and setting them on fire in the streets. VHP District Secretary Bhaskar Deka stated that they would not accept celebrations they deem "non-Indian." While the police confirmed the violence, they noted that no FIR has been registered yet as no formal complaints have been filed by the victims.
