Light to moderate rainfall in UP
Lucknow, Sep 13 (PTI) Light to moderate rainfall was recorded at many places in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Chief amount of rainfall recorded in Elgin Bridge was 10 cm, followed by Ram Nagar (8 cm); Nawabganj and Billari (7 cm each); Sahaswan (6 cm); Fatehpur , Barabanki and Dataganj (5 cm each); Anola, Badaun, Siroli and Gauspur (4 cm each), the Met Department said.
Isolated places over the state witnessed heavy rainfall.
The weatherman as forecast rain and thundershowers at isolated places over the state.
According to a report by the Central Water Commission, the Ganga river at Ghazipur and Ballia, and Sharda river at Palia Kalan were flowing above the red mark.
Ghaghra river, which had been flowing above the danger mark at Elgin Bridge, Ayodhya and Turtipar (Ballia) for the last few days, has registered a declining trend though the water flow is recorded near the danger mark, it said.
The Ganga at Narora, Farrukhabad, Ankinghat and Kanpur; the Yamuna at Prayag ghat; and Quano at Chandradeep ghat; were still flowing at dangerous level, it added.
