Let’s use one account on four devices; WhatsApp’s latest update out
Today, the Meta announced an important upgrade on their owned messaging platform WhatsApp. WhatsApp users are no longer restricted to using their account on just a single phone. Meta has introduced a new feature allowing users to use the same account on four phones. Each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently and ensure that the personal messages, media, voice calls and video calls are end-to-end encrypted, the company said in a statement.
WhatsApp previously allowed users to access and send messages from additional android tablets, browsers, or computers alongside users primary phone. But, the situation is changed now. Meta allows users to use the same account in maximum four at the same time. This feature will be rolling out to everyone in the coming weeks.
On the other hand, Meta promises all security to the users. In case the primary device is inactive for a long period, then the WhatsApp user's account will be automatically logged out of all the companion devices. According to reports, the 'long period' will be a maximum of 14 days. The new feature works across both iOS and Android devices.
This new facility will be useful for small scale businesses or vendors. It allows multiple employees to be able to send and receive messages from the same business number via different phones. They can receive orders or provide services through one number. It also allows for multiple branches of small industries. It is also useful to social media managers too.
WhatsApp’s new feature is also useful for personal use. Most of us now uses multiple smartphones on a regular basis and wants them all to be associated with the same WhatsApp account.
According to reports, Meta will introduce more features or upgrades on WhatsApp in coming days.
