Kochi: Hearing on anticipatory bail plea by Bishop Franco Mulakkals, has been postponed to 25th september by Kerala highcourt. The Bishop of Jalandhar Diocese was accused of sexually assaulting a nun over 13 times over the period of 2014 to 2013 during his visits to a convent run under Jalandhr diocese in Kuruvilangad in Kottayam. The accused was asked to appear at the DYSP office, for interrogation at 10:00 am tomorrow. Plea was submitted by the Clergy against his apprehension for non bailable offence stating that he has been cooperating with the investigation and that he believes the case is a conspiracy against him

Plea was taken under consideration by the single bench lead by Justice Vijaya Raghavan. However,as the hearing has been moved, investigating Officer can decide weather to arrest Fr. Franco or not after tomorrow' s interrogation. Director General of prosecution shall represent the government on the case, meanwhile HC has informed the stand of government over the decision of the commision
