ഇടുക്കി: കട്ടപ്പന മേട്ടുകുഴിയില്‍ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മൃതദ്ദേഹം കത്തിക്കരിഞ്ഞ നിലയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. ചരല്‍വിളയില്‍ മേരിയാണ് (63) മരിച്ചത്. പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോര്‍ട്ടത്തിന് ശേഷമേ കൂടുതല്‍ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ പറയാനാവൂ എന്ന് പൊലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു.
വെളുപ്പിന് ഒരു മണിയോടെയാണ് സംഭവം.

വീട്ടിലെത്തിയ മകനാണ് മുറ്റത്ത് മൃതദേഹം ആദ്യം കണ്ടത്. ആത്മഹത്യ ആണെന്നാണ് പൊലിസിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. സംഭവത്തില്‍ വണ്ടന്‍മേട് പൊലിസ് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. മേരിക്ക് ചെറിയ രീതിയില്‍ മാനസിക പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍ നേരിട്ടിരുന്നതായി നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പറയുന്നു. ഇവരുടെ കുടുംബം അടുത്തിടെ ഒരു വീട് വാടകയ്ക്ക് എടുത്തിരുന്നു. അവിടേയ്ക്ക് താമസം മാറുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരുക്കങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടെയാണ് മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത്.

വീടിന്റെ മുറ്റത്താണ് മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. മണ്ണെണ്ണ ഒഴിച്ച് തീ കൊളുത്തിയ നിലയിലാണ് മൃതദേഹം. മരണത്തില്‍ ദുരൂഹതയില്ലെന്നാണ് പൊലിസിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. എന്നാല്‍ ശാസ്ത്രീയ പരിശോധനയിലൂടെ മാത്രമേ മരണകാരണം വ്യക്തമാവുകയുള്ളൂവെന്നും പൊലിസ് പറയുന്നു.

The burnt body of a 63-year-old woman, identified as Mary of Charalvil, was found in the courtyard of a house at Mettukuzhi in Kattappana, Idukki, during the early hours of the morning. The body was first noticed by her son when he arrived home. Police said the incident occurred around 1 a.m. and that preliminary findings suggest no foul play. An investigation has been initiated by the Vandanmedu police, and further details will be confirmed after the post-mortem and scientific examination. Locals mentioned that the woman had been facing mild mental health issues, and the family was in the process of preparing to move into a rented house.
