കോട്ടയം: സ്വത്ത് വില്‍പനയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട തര്‍ക്കം പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി പൊലിസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്കു വിളിപ്പിച്ചയാള്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞു വീണു മരിച്ചു. ഞീഴൂര്‍ പഞ്ചായത്ത് 13ാം വാര്‍ഡ് മഠത്തിപ്പറമ്പ് കുറവം പറമ്പില്‍ സ്റ്റീഫന്‍ ചാണ്ടി(51)യാണ് മരിച്ചത്. 
ഇന്നലെ വൈകുന്നേരം അഞ്ചുമണിയോടടുത്ത് കടുത്തുരുത്തി പൊലിസ്  സേറ്റഷനിലാണ് സംഭവം. സ്റ്റീഫനെ ഞീഴൂര്‍ സ്വദേശിയായ കോണ്‍ട്രാക്ടറുടെ പരാതിയില്‍ സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു.

 പൊലിസ് ഇടപെട്ട് സ്റ്റീഫനും പരാതിക്കാരനും തമ്മില്‍ സംസാരിക്കാന്‍ അവസരമുണ്ടാക്കിയതായും പറയുന്നു. ഇതിനിടയില്‍പുറത്തേക്കു പോയ സ്റ്റീഫന്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞു വീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉടന്‍ കടുത്തുരുത്തി സഹകരണ ആശുപത്രിയിലും പിന്നീട് കരിത്താസ് ആശുപത്രിയിലും എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും മരിച്ചു. മൃതദേഹം കാരിത്താസ് ആശുപത്രി മോര്‍ച്ചറിയിലാണ്.

Stephen Chandy (51), a resident of Kuravam Parambil, Madathipparambu, in the 13th ward of Neendoor Panchayat, tragically passed away after collapsing at the Kaduthuruthy police station in Kottayam. He had been summoned to the station following a complaint by a local contractor related to a property dispute.

The incident occurred around 5 PM. According to reports, the police facilitated a conversation between Stephen and the complainant. During this time, Stephen stepped outside and suddenly collapsed. He was immediately taken to Kaduthuruthy Cooperative Hospital and later shifted to Caritas Hospital, where he was declared dead. His body is currently kept at the Caritas Hospital mortuary.
