ഡല്‍ഹി: ഗാന്ധി സ്മരണയില്‍ ഇന്ന് രാജ്യം. മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയുടെ 156ാം ജന്മദിനമാണ് രാജ്യം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. ഗാന്ധി ജയന്തി ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി രാജ്യത്ത് വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ ശുചിത്വ കാംപയിനുകളും നടക്കും. പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയും രാഷ്ട്രപതിയും അടക്കമുള്ള പ്രമുഖര്‍ രാജ്ഘട്ടില്‍ പുഷ്പാര്‍ച്ചന നടത്തുന്നതാണ്.

ഗാന്ധി ജയന്തി ദിവസം ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഖാദി ഉത്പന്നങ്ങള്‍ വാങ്ങണമെന്ന് പ്രധാന മന്ത്രി ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ ജന്മദിനം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര അഹിംസ ദിനം കൂടിയായാണ് ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. സ്വദേശി, നിര്‍ഭയത്വം, സമത്വം എന്നീ ആശയങ്ങള്‍ പകര്‍ന്നു നല്‍കിയ ഗാന്ധി ആശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് നൂറുകണക്കിന് പേരാണ് സന്ദര്‍ശകരായി എത്തുന്നത്. ഹിന്ദു-മുസ്്‌ലിം മതമൈത്രിയുടെ പാഠശാല കൂടിയായിരുന്ന ആശ്രമം. എന്നാല്‍ മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കു മാത്രമല്ല, സഹജീവികള്‍ക്കും ഇടം നല്‍കാറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 

India is observing the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today with various celebrations and campaigns across the country. As part of Gandhi Jayanti, cleanliness drives are being organized in different regions. Prominent leaders including the President and Prime Minister paid floral tributes at Raj Ghat. The Prime Minister urged citizens to purchase Khadi products in honor of the day. Gandhi Jayanti is also observed as the International Day of Non-Violence. Hundreds of people are visiting Gandhi Ashram, a place symbolic of values like self-reliance, fearlessness, and equality. The Ashram also served as a school for Hindu-Muslim unity and welcomed not just people but also all living beings.
