തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മാസത്തിലും വൈദ്യുതി ബില്‍ കൂടും. യൂണിറ്റിന് 10 പൈസ വീതം ഇന്ധന സര്‍ചാര്‍ജ് ഈടാക്കുന്നതാണ് ബില്ല് വര്‍ധിക്കാനുള്ള കാരണം. രണ്ടു മാസത്തിലൊരിക്കലുള്ള ബില്ലിലും പ്രതിമാസ ബില്ലിലും ഇത് ബാധകമാകുന്നതാണ്.

ഓഗസ്റ്റില്‍ വൈദ്യുതി പ്രതിസന്ധി പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ പുറത്തുനിന്ന് വൈദ്യുതി വാങ്ങിയതിന് റെഗുലേറ്ററി കമ്മീഷന്‍ അനുമതി നല്‍കിയതിനേക്കാള്‍ അധികം ചെലവായ 27.42 കോടി രൂപ തിരിച്ചുപിടിക്കാനാണ് സര്‍ചാര്‍ജ് ചുമത്തുന്നത്. സെപ്റ്റംബറിലെ ബില്ലിലും 10 പൈസ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു സര്‍ചാര്‍ജ്.

In Thiruvananthapuram, electricity bills will see a slight hike in October, as a fuel surcharge of 10 paise per unit will be levied once again. This surcharge applies to both monthly and bi-monthly bills. The reason behind the hike is the additional ₹27.42 crore spent in August to purchase power from outside sources to manage the electricity crisis. The regulatory commission had approved a lower cost, and the excess amount is now being recovered through this surcharge
