ന്യൂഡൽഹി: മുൻ ഉപരാഷ്ട്രപതി ജഗ്ദീപ് ധൻകറിനെ ആരോഗ്യനില മോശമായതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ഡൽഹിയിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ശനിയാഴ്ച (ജനുവരി 10) രണ്ടുതവണ ബോധരഹിതനായി വീണതിനെത്തുടർന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിദഗ്ധ ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചത്. 

ശുചിമുറിയിൽ പോയ സമയത്താണ് അദ്ദേഹം ആദ്യം കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടടുത്ത വൃത്തങ്ങൾ അറിയിച്ചു. നിലവിൽ ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ കർശന നിരീക്ഷണത്തിലുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് കൂടുതൽ വൈദ്യപരിശോധനകൾ നടത്തിവരികയാണ്.

ആരോഗ്യപരമായ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ 2025 ജൂലൈ 21-ന് അദ്ദേഹം ഉപരാഷ്ട്രപതി സ്ഥാനം രാജിവെച്ചിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടെന്നുള്ള രാജി അക്കാലത്ത് വലിയ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചർച്ചകൾക്കും അഭ്യൂഹങ്ങൾക്കും വഴിതെളിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, ആരോഗ്യപ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ മൂലമാണ് താൻ സ്ഥാനമൊഴിയുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പിന്നീട് വ്യക്തമാക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
